Carlo Bagnoli started to play, when he was very young, in 1951 when founded the Milan College Jazz Society, one of the first and very appreciated group in the italian traditional jazz.
During his so durable activity he partecipated to more than 3,500 concerts in every part of Italy, Europe, United States, South America, East Orient and Africa, to amy recording sessions (52 are the LPs and CDs in which he appears), TV and Radio programs and exibitions to the most important jazz festivals and jazz clubs.

His first instruments were banjo and guitar; successively he started to play baritone, soprano and alto saxes, becoming in a short time a very appreciated soloist in Italy and Europe.
Carlo Bagnoli is a very eclectic musician so he is able to play correctly traditional style, mainstream and bop.

During his activity he joined with many important musicians, like: Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Albert Nicholas, Metz Mezzrow, Joe Newman, Barney Bigard, Harry Sweet Edison, Jimmy McPartland, Joe Venuti, Billy Butterfield, Sir Charles Thompson, Earl Warren, Bud Freeman, Eddie Miller, Wild Bill Davison, George Masso, Bob Wilber, Kenny Davern, Jank Lawson, Peanuts Hucko, Ralph Sutton, Tony Scott, Dick Cary, Toots Thielemans, Gerry Mulligan, Lee Konitz, Albert Mangelsdorf, Mike Melillo and many others.

1982 he was voted between the seven best italian musicians in the "Top Jazz" awards published by the italian magazine "Musica Jazz".

During his musical experience Carlo Bagnoli had the unusual capacity to form many and very appreciated groups: the "MILAN COLLEGE JAZZ SOCIETY" in
1951, successively the famous "MILAN JAZZ QUARTET", the spectacular "DUKE ELLINGTON REPERTORY ORCHESTRA", the orginal "SAXOPHONE CIRCLE", the very appreciated "ATHMOSPHERE JAZZ TRIO" and some other quartets and quintets to own name.
Also his groups often appeared in the various "Top Jazz" award above mentioned.

Carlo Bagnoli is everywhere well known and appreciated beacause he always appears to the public with a grat respect, professionality and original and valid jazz proposals.

Besides the groups above mentioned, Carlo Bagnoli proposes now a tribute to Louis Armstrong, remembering this extraordinary musician, a real jazz ambassador around the world, with a band deliberately without trumpet (any imitation or comparison are unproposable) and playing many tunes composed by himself or famous songs played during his wonderful career.
In this group Carlo Bagnoli is on soprano sax, Danilo Moccia on trombone, Alfredo Ferrario on clarinet, Rossano Sportiello on piano, Aldo Zunino on bass and Stefano Bagnoli on drums.
A very spectacular band with an evocable repertory.
