He starts to play the piano at the age of 12, learning the bases with
Alba Masciopinto. He studies classical music with Flavio Peconio at
the conservatory "Piccinni" (Bari). Since his early youth he founds his first bands and performs in different
occasions; that brings him near modern and jazz music, so that he applies to a music
school called "Pentagramma", where he studies modern piano, jazz, harmony, arrangement
and composition with Davide Santorsola e Nico Marziliano. He also attends several seminars with Battaglia, Fabrizio Sferra and Paolino Dalla Porta, not to forget the "International jazz music seminars" in Siena where studied with Enrico Pieranunzi, Franco D'andrea and Ettore Fioravanti. Then he performs as leader, free lance or with different bands all around
Italy, Switzerland, China (International Fair Chic 2005),
Austria and plays in theatres and clubs or during exhibitions and various events
(Onyx jazz festival, Beat on to jazz, Besana Open Jazz Festival, Apriljazz etc).
He works in collaboration with lots of artists, such as
Fabrizio Bosso,
Francesco Bearzatti,
Gianluca Petrella,
Roberto Ottaviano,
Nicola
Conte, Toni Arco,
Ferdinando
Faraņ, Marco Vaggi, Michele Carrabba,
Agostino Marangolo, Karl
Potter, Ronnie Jones. He records quite a few albums as a leader and as a sideman. Many are his experiences and collaborations with Italian pop musicians, like Lisa ("Oceano Tour 2003"), Annalisa Minetti and Marco Morandi. He now plays in the band of Luca Leoni and has recently recorded with Warner Italia his latest single "Ballo fuori tempo". He recorded the first album of Virginio, published by Universal Music. With the single "Davvero" Virginio partecipated to the 56th Festival of Sanremo. Discography:
